Customer Quality Engineering (CQE) is part of Seagate's Global Sales organization, serving as the critical link between our customers, factories, and engineering teams to deliver world-class product quality and customer satisfaction.
Based in Seagate Wuxi, our team works closely with manufacturing, product engineering, reliability, and customer-facing organizations worldwide to monitor product performance, investigate quality issues, analyze field data, and drive corrective and preventive actions. We play a key role in ensuring customer success by translating data-driven insights into continuous product and process improvements.

About the role - you will:

As a Customer Quality Engineering (CQE) Intern, you will support quality engineering, data analytics, customer engagement, and digital transformation initiatives that drive product quality and business excellence. You will work closely with quality, manufacturing, engineering, and customer-facing teams to analyze product performance, solve technical challenges, and develop innovative digital solutions that improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. This role offers hands-on experience in quality engineering, manufacturing operations, customer support, data analytics, AI technologies, and process automation within a global technology company.
Your responsibilities will include:
Quality Analytics and Engineering
•    Collect, consolidate, and analyze engineering, manufacturing, and field quality data from multiple sources.
•    Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to improve data visibility and support business decision-making.
•    Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in product performance, manufacturing quality, and customer quality metrics.
•    Support root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven analysis.
AI, Automation and Digital Transformation
•    Develop AI and automation solutions to improve engineering productivity and business efficiency.
•    Explore Generative AI, Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, Python, and other digital technologies to streamline engineering workflows.
•    Assist in deploying, validating, and documenting digital solutions for engineering and quality teams.
•    Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and simplify recurring reporting and analysis activities.
Customer Quality and Technical Engagement
•    Support customer quality monitoring and product performance analysis.
•    Participate in technical discussions related to product quality, field performance, and customer issues.
•    Assist in preparing customer quality reports, presentations, and business reviews.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support issue investigations and corrective implementation.

Your experience includes:

•    Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, Statistics, or a related field.
•    Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to transform data into meaningful insights and business recommendations.
•    Passion for data analytics, quality engineering, process improvement, and emerging technologies.
•    Programming experience in Python, R, SQL, or similar languages for data analysis and automation.
•    Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools, including libraries such as Matplotlib, Plotly, Seaborn, or similar technologies.
•    Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Microsoft Copilot, or related AI technologies.
•    Experience working with databases, data modeling, data extraction, and analytical techniques.
•    Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, JMP, Tableau, Minitab and other productivity tools.

Located in the high technology district, our site in Wuxi is a global manufacturing hub, where nearly 4,000 employees deliver technical services, customer tests, manufacturing, and support capabilities.
