- Develop and execute global commodity strategies for Production chemicals and gases to achieve cost, quality, delivery, service, technology, and supply continuity objectives.
- Lead supplier selection, sourcing events, cost analysis, negotiations, contracting, commercial agreements, and allocation strategies to achieve the lowest total cost of acquisition.
- Own strategic supplier relationships, establish performance expectations, conduct business reviews and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
- Partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, environmental health and safety, finance, legal, and site supply chain teams to translate technical and production requirements into sourcing plans.
- Support new product introductions, qualifications, specification changes, capacity planning, and material readiness for wafer fabs and design centers.
- Monitor commodity markets, pricing, capacity, geopolitical developments, regulations, and supplier financial or operational conditions to identify risks and opportunities.
- Lead supply risk mitigation, including business continuity planning, alternate-source development, allocation management, inventory strategies, and recovery actions.
- Review supplier segmentation, lead end-to-end risk assessments and continuity plans for critical materials and single-source dependencies.
- Coordinate cross-functional response during disruptions, quality excursions, force majeure, geopolitical and regulatory changes and provide fact-based options and decision points to leadership.
- Drive cost-reduction and productivity initiatives through commercial negotiation, demand aggregation, value analysis, process improvement, and supplier innovation.
- Ensure sourcing activities comply with company policies, applicable industry standards, contractual requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Benchmark and report potential green chemistry and lower-impact solutions that can improve environmental performance while meeting technical and business requirements.
- Provide clear updates to senior management on commodity strategy, supplier performance, cost savings, risk exposure, mitigation status, and supply chain effectiveness.
