Seagate Technology, the global leader in storage solutions innovation, seeks a Sr. Staff Analyst in its Business Planning organization.  This position is part of our Business Planning organization which includes the responsibilities of Market Research, Business Vertical Analysis, Demand Planning, and Optimization for Enterprise HDD and SSD markets.  Our group’s charter is to define short and long term market trends facing the global storage industry, accurately forecast the market demand, while working alongside Business Marketing and Sales to forecast business verticals.

 

We are looking for someone who will be comfortable working closely with business teams and management as well as deal with complex numerical analysis, modeling techniques, and company data information sets. 

About the role - you will:

•    Drive TAM/market/vertical understanding and create a “Seagate View” for discussion and presentation to management.  

•    Utilize internal and external data sets, providing weekly/monthly/quarterly reports.

•    Take ownership of creating and maintaining new business models that bridge supply and demand planning as well as scenario analysis. 

•    Have the skills to communicate forecasts to colleagues and management.

•    Has the capability to take on new projects while completing weekly/monthly responsibilities, assist and train others on models and desires upward mobility in the organization.

 

Key areas of responsibilities include:

  • Revenue Planning – Business partnering with Sales and Marketing leadership team to derive the quarterly revenue plan in the Enterprise edge space.
  • Enable Marketing segment and Product leads with business scenarios to drive optimized business plan.  
  • Drive the Extended Business Outlook (EBO) process and supportive sub-processes. Deriving TAM, share targets, product mix, volumes, and pricing across regions and for both OEM and Distribution channels.
  • Customers planning – Partnering with Marketing leads to drive long term products placement business plans with strategic customers. Enable the successful transition of products lines within the Enterprise space with alignment to our supply chain and operations teams.
  • Analysis – Maintain internal and external data sets and use them to create better understanding of vertical, channel, and product trends in the market.
  • Modeling & Presentations – Ability to create and manage financial models with scenario tools and share across internal organizations; turn data into information to create insight for management.
  • Tools – Create data in Excel and in business systems that are used during the EBO process.
  • Learning – Participate in continuous learning to broaden business skills.
     

About you:

•    Extensive experience in business analytics or financial analytics function.
•    Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills desired.
•    Ability to work across multiple cross functional organizations globally to influence and drive critical decisions timely. 
•    Strong proficiency in MSFT Excel.
•    Experience with visualization and ERP systems: Tableau, Alteryx, SAP, IBP, BPC.
•    Project management.  Must be able to manage multiple projects and deliverables.  
•    Business acumen.  Understands how key metrics drive a business.
•    Teamwork. Ability to work in cross-functional teams and deliver objectives on time.

 

Your experience includes:

•    Knowledge of the Enterprise storage market is preferred.
•    Experience in statistical modeling techniques and pricing analysis.
•    Working knowledge of the hardware ecosystem surrounding storage technologies and companies.
•    Personnel management experience.
•    BS/BA degree in a business or quantitative field (economics, finance, statistics, etc) or equivalent experience.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $126,000 - $184,000. The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
