About the role - you will:

The Design Lead plays a pivotal role in defining how the brand shows up in the world, translating Seagate’s vision into bold, modern, and scalable creative. As a senior leader on the Brand Creative team, the Design Lead helps shape the creative vision and execution of brand design across the marketing ecosystem alongside our Creative Director—bringing Seagate’s technology, products, and values to life across campaigns, digital experiences, events, and brand storytelling.

Partnering closely with marketing, product, and executive stakeholders, the Design Lead helps craft narratives that communicate innovation, differentiate the brand, and inspire customers. They lead designers through concept development and execution, translate business and product goals into compelling visual narratives, and steward a cohesive brand system that scales across fast‑moving digital environments. Balancing craft, leadership, and cross‑functional collaboration, the Design Lead ensures the brand feels innovative, consistent, and unmistakably distinct.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of brand‑forward creative concepts for integrated marketing campaigns, product launches, and strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee visual design across channels, including web, social, video, events, and paid media.
  • Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of brand, visual, and motion designers.
  • Partner with marketing strategists, copywriters, producers, and product teams to bring ideas to life.
  • Translate complex technology narratives into clear, compelling visual stories.
  • Uphold and evolve the brand identity system, ensuring consistency and innovation across all touchpoints.
  • Facilitate creative reviews, provide actionable feedback, and maintain high design standards.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, freelancers, and production partners as needed.
  • Present creative concepts and rationale to senior marketing and executive stakeholders.
  • Use insights, performance data, and audience research to inform creative decisions.
  • Advocate for design‑led thinking within the marketing organization, influencing strategy through strong creative rationale and customer‑centric insights.
  • Stay ahead of cultural, design, and technology trends to keep the brand fresh, relevant, and future‑focused.
  • Leverage AI‑powered design tools and workflows to support best‑in‑class creative execution.

About you:

  • Extensive experience in brand design, visual design, or creative direction.
  • Significant experience leading designers or creative teams.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing brand systems, digital‑first campaigns, and storytelling for complex or technical products.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead creative direction and mentor designers.
  • Deep expertise in visual design, typography, layout, motion principles, and modern digital formats.
  • Ability to translate strategic goals into scalable creative solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, including confidence presenting to senior leaders.
  • Experience working cross‑functionally in fast‑moving organizations.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $130,000 - $189,000. The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
 
Seagate offers comprehensive benefits to its eligible employees, including, but not limited to, eligibility to participate in discretionary bonus program, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, short-and long-term disability, 401(k), employee stock purchase plan, health savings account, dependent care, and healthcare spending accounts. Seagate also offers paid time off, including 12 holidays, flexible time off provided pursuant to Seagate policy, a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave, and 16 weeks of paid parental leave. The benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location.
