About the role - you will:

 

  • Lead and own the HDD substrate manufacturing process, ensuring process stability in ID/OD, grinding, and plating operations, process capability, product quality, and compliance with manufacturing and customer requirements.
  • Drive yield, quality, and cost improvement initiatives through data analysis, root cause investigations, process optimization, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Manage ID/OD, grind, and plating process reliability and controls, ensuring  grinding and bath health, filtration performance, preventive maintenance effectiveness, and consistent plating performance.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Process Engineers and Technicians, providing technical guidance, setting priorities, and building a high-performing engineering organization.
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Suppliers to support production targets, qualify process changes, execute improvement projects, and deliver key business metrics including yield, uptime, cost savings, and customer satisfaction.

  • Proven leader with a track record of building inclusive, high-performing teams and driving accountability.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with a structured, data-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Solid foundation in process and/or equipment engineering in a manufacturing setting.
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Melayu (written and spoken).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Your experience includes:

 

  • Working in high-volume manufacturing, preferably in grinding, plating, or similar processes like HDD substrate manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated results in improving yield, quality, cost, or cycle time.
  • Leading teams or technical groups to deliver business and operational outcomes.
  • Hands-on experience in process optimization, equipment engineering, or reliability improvement.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally and influence stakeholders in a global environment.
