About our group:

Recording Media Organization (RMO) RPE group is to provide reliable component media electrical testing (VTS) for factory daily production and launch new media development.  The team also provides technical solutions to testing improvement and new metrology development to enhance test data accuracy.

Close collaboration with Fremont test group and Sputter process group is expected.  Primary metrics are accurate and timely VTS data for media performance assessment and minimum sputter machine downtime.  

About the role - you will:

  • Provide reliable VTS data for factory production media
  • Provide reliable VTS data for Launch media development
  • Improve testing turnaround cycle time  
  • Develop/work with Fremont Test group to define test head criteria/test setups 
  • Provide continuous testing improvements/metrology for testing accuracy enhancements/FA
  • Provide electrical FA support for drive failure returns 
  • Improve VTS to eDVL correlation 
  • Be technical lead of RPE lab engineers/ES
  • Report to RPE director

About you:

  • Team player and self-motivated
  • Efficient communication and technical leadership skills
  • Strong ability in problem identification and innovation
  • Proficient in English speaking and writing 

Your experience includes:

  • Fundamental understanding on magnetic recording physics
  • HAMR head and media basic understanding
  • Familiar with magnetic recording electrical parameters like ADC,  TPI,  BPI , ATI etc 
  • Knowledge of VTS testing,  data analytics and drive RSS knowledge are added advantages
