About our group:

The Lubricant Laboratory team focused on synthesis of media lubricants that enable enhanced performance and reliability in storage technologies. The team specializes in the synthesis, characterization, and optimization of organic and fluorocarbon-based materials to support in core product platforms. 

This role sits within a structured R&D organization & the team collaborates closely with cross-functional engineering, materials science, and product development groups. Joining this group provides the opportunity to work on materials development while contributing directly to business-critical initiatives. 

About the role - you will:

  • Carry out the synthesis of lubricant, including reaction condition optimization, and purification and characterization of end-products.  

  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and publications to communicate  findings and progress. 

  • Support routine laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance, lab safety compliance and general housekeeping. 

  • This job is career-oriented, journey-level position, expected to operate independently on most assignments with minimal day-to-day supervision. 

About you:

  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic with a positive attitude and a team player 

  • Strong communication and coordination skills 

Your experience includes:

  • Master or PhD in Chemistry (Prefer Organic/Organometallic) or Degree in Chemistry with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a technical role. 

  • Strong background in the synthesis and characterization of organic/fluorocarbon materials. 

  • Proven track record of research excellence, demonstrated through publications and patents. 

You might also have: 

  • Experience in GPC (Gel Permeation Chromatography), HPLC, LC-TOF, FTIR, ToF-SIMS interpretation will be an advantage.
