About our group:

RMO Material Science Laboratory Department is part of the Asia Media Development group located in Woodlands 1 building.  The laboratory is equipped will multiple wet chemistry and surface analytical instrument/tool, and the primary function is to provide analytical tests/solutions for media qualification to improve media yield, quality and reliability. The department also serves a critical role on HDM tribology, corrosion, outgoing media quality, defect and particle/contamination reduction through working closely with other functional departments, thus enabling other functions in the disciplines of Mechanical, Electrical, Recording Technology, R&D, Customer Integration and Manufacturing. This role will report to an Engineering Manager.

About the role - you will:

  • Expertise in Candela OSA operation, in terms of operation principle, recipe setup, defect detection sensitivity, defect binning, etc.
  • Lead in exploring ways to improve Candela OSA detection sensitivity within RMO.
  • Collaborate closely with Candela OSA maintenance team from Sustaining group in Candela OSA troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Carrying out analysis via SEM/EDX machine to support media defect/particle ID analysis.

  • Self-motivated, independent and a team player with strong analytical skills and ability to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Able to resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways.

Your experience includes:

  • Job requires at least a degree (Bachelor or Masters) in Material Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. 

You might also have:

  • Good Engineering knowledge and data analytical skills.
  • Good communication skill and experience in writing clear and concise report.
