Our team supports product development and high-volume manufacturing for leading-edge storage platforms, including HAMR technology. Working alongside Staff Engineers, Senior Engineers, Operations, Process Engineering, Maintenance, and global teams, we develop and deploy advanced automation systems and metrology solutions that improve manufacturing performance, strengthen process control, and accelerate product qualification.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with sophisticated automation technologies, inspection systems, magnetic measurement equipment, and advanced metrology tools in a fast-paced cleanroom manufacturing environment

About the role - you will:

As an Equipment Senior Engineering Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting and optimizing advanced manufacturing equipment, metrology tools, and automation systems within our Class 10 and Class 100 cleanroom environment.
You will work closely with engineering and operations teams to install, qualify, troubleshoot, and improve equipment performance while contributing to new technology deployment and continuous improvement initiatives. This role offers hands-on exposure to advanced automation systems and manufacturing technologies that drive Seagate's future products.

•    Perform installation, setup, qualification, calibration, and optimization of metrology tools and automation systems.
•    Troubleshoot equipment, automation, and process-related issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
•    Support engineering projects, equipment upgrades, process improvements, and technology deployment activities.
•    Assist in the installation, commissioning, validation, and start-up of new manufacturing equipment and automation systems.
•    Partner with Maintenance and Engineering teams to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement sustainable corrective actions.
•    Provide technical support for preventive maintenance, recovery activities, and equipment performance improvement initiatives.
•    Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and cleanroom standards.
•    Drive continuous improvement projects focused on productivity, reliability, quality, and operational efficiency.

About you:

Your experience includes:

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience supporting manufacturing equipment, automation systems, or metrology tools.
  • Experience with equipment setup, qualification, troubleshooting, and maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom operations and manufacturing process controls. 
  • Experience with PLC-controlled equipment, robotics, machine vision systems, or industrial automation technologies.
