The Senior Engineering Management organization at Seagate Singapore (W1) provides strategic leadership for backend HDD manufacturing excellence. The group oversees engineering governance, long‑term capability development, cross‑functional alignment, and execution of technology roadmaps to ensure Seagate Singapore remains operationally competitive and future‑ready.
About the role - you will:
- Lead engineering strategy, governance, and execution across Process, Equipment, Automation, and Industrial Engineering functions.
- Drive factory‑wide performance improvements in yield, OEE, output, cost, and technology readiness.
- Shape long‑term engineering capability roadmaps—including skills development, technology adoption, and organizational design.
- Oversee engineering readiness and seamless execution for NPI ramps, customer audits, and qualification activities.
- Partner with global R&D, Corporate Engineering, Supply Chain, and Product Teams to align technology direction and factory capability.
- Provide decision‑making leadership on technical escalations, major engineering changes, and equipment/process investments.
- Champion advanced engineering initiatives such as predictive maintenance, robotics, automation scaling, and data‑driven engineering.
- Build, mentor, and retain strong engineering leaders and senior technical talent.
- Ensure adherence to Seagate’s quality, safety, compliance, and engineering standards.
- Manage engineering budgets, resource allocation, headcount planning, and organizational performance metrics.
About you:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Chemical, or related).
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with proven ability to convert long‑term engineering vision into actionable programs.
- Deep expertise in high‑volume manufacturing, process control, or advanced automation.
- Able to thrive in fast‑paced environments with complex cross‑functional dynamics.
- Excellent communicator skilled at bridging technical and business perspectives.
- Open to travel to Thailand for one month for on-job-training.
Your experience includes:
- 12+ years of engineering experience, including 6+ years in leadership roles.
- Proven track record of driving factory‑level performance improvements.
- Experience managing senior engineers, technical leads, and cross‑functional engineering programs.
- Strong competency in Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, problem‑solving, and data‑driven decision‑making.
- Experience in HDD or semiconductor/precision‑manufacturing sectors.
- Exposure to automation strategy, advanced robotics, or predictive analytics.
- Experience in multi‑site collaboration or global engineering program management.
