About our group:

 

Seagate's Product Engineering & Failure Analysis team delivers end‑to‑end analytical support for HDD products, covering both Reliability and Quality test failures.

 

We work closely with Design Centers, manufacturing sites, suppliers, and cross‑functional engineering teams to investigate issues, identify root causes, validate technical hypotheses, and drive solutions that enhance product reliability and overall quality.

About the role - you will:

 

As a Senior Product Engineer, you will play a critical role in advancing product quality and optimizing manufacturing performance. In this position, you will:

 

  • Conduct detailed failure analysis to identify root causes of design and manufacturing issues, driving solutions that enhance yield and overall product quality.
  • Provide technical leadership across functions and collaborate with global engineering teams to deliver timely, effective, and data‑driven resolutions.
  • Support hard disk drive (HDD) test‑related quality issues, developing containment and corrective actions to safeguard product quality and customer experience.

About you:

 

You excel in fast-paced, collaborative engineering environments and bring strong leadership qualities to cross‑functional teams. You are:

 

  • Possess a degree in Engineering or any relevant disciplines.
  • An effective communicator, especially when navigating complex technical topics across diverse functions.
  • Organized and capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Skilled in teamwork, leadership, stakeholder management, and technical presentations.
  • Proactive, motivated, and comfortable planning, tracking, and reporting technical progress.
  • Open to travel to Thailand for a month for on-job training. 

Your experience includes:

 

  • Strong understanding of hard disk drive architecture and fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of magnetic recording principles and laser technologies.
  • Competence in data analytics, consistent with evolving global engineering trends.
  • Programming experience with Python and MATLAB.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Experience with oscilloscope‑based signal analysis.
  • Coursework or hands‑on experience in failure analysis of electronic or electro‑mechanical systems.
