About our group:

The Seagate Recording Media Operations - Woodlands site is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to join our team. You will work with a team of software and process engineers both in Singapore and the US to develop and maintain manufacturing test equipment software and process code in Seagate's media factory in Singapore.

About the role - you will:

  • Be responsible for FA and development of Python process scripts
  • Collect and analyze parametric data from production and developmental systems using JMP/Jupyter/Rust tools
  • Help Woodlands develop their AI/ML ecosystem using algorithms/tools to improve yield/throughput of media production
  • Develop Python software applications with the larger team
  • Develop Python/Jupyter/Rust tools

About you:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • Strong familiarity with Python, Jupyter
  • Strong familiarity with software development IDE’s (VScode preferred)
  • Strong familiarity with Github and standard software development practices
  • Strong analytical skills using Excel, JMP, Matlab or equivalent
  • Ability to support after hour calls
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 5%
  • Motivated, self-starter capable of working issues independently, willing to adapt and learn in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment

Your experience includes:

  • Masters Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering is a plus
  • Experience with ASICs is a plus
  • Hard drive experience is a plus
  • Servo experience is a plus
