The Global Factory IT team is a global organization that delivers and operates mission‑critical IT systems, enabling Seagate’s manufacturing operations worldwide. Based at the Woodlands site, our team partners closely with site factory operations, engineering, automation, infrastructure, and global IT teams to ensure 24x7 availability of shopfloor systems, manufacturing execution platforms, and factory data services. We play a key role in driving operational excellence by maintaining high system uptime, enabling efficient WIP flow, and continuously improving reliability, scalability, and automation across factory IT services. As part of a globally connected team, we work on real production‑impacting challenges, adopt modern technologies such as automation and AI‑assisted operations, and provide opportunities to develop deep domain expertise while contributing directly to Seagate’s manufacturing competitiveness and long‑term strategy.

About the role - you will:

 

  • Drive automation and GenAI adoption (AI-assisted troubleshooting, self-service, predictive insights)

  • Rapidly resolve production-critical incidents in collaboration with engineering and factory teams

  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive improvements

  • Maintain high availability and stability of manufacturing IT systems in a 24x7 environment

  • Support system upgrades, deployments, and changes with focus on security, scalability, and reliability

About you:

 

  • Strong ownership of production impacting systems

  • Clear communication with factory stakeholders

  • Strong team player with dependable support for round-the-clock operations

  • Strong interest or experience in AI / GenAI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, automation agents)

  • Ability to identify opportunities to automate and optimize operations using AI

  • Willingness to learn and adopt emerging technologies (training provided)

  • Mindset shift from reactive support → predictive, intelligent operations

  • Acquired relevant certifications (Microsoft, ITIL, etc.) is an added advantage

  • Obtained Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent/relevant field

Your experience includes:

 

  • 5 to 8+ years working in IT infrastructure or systems support
  • Working background in supporting mission-critical system
  • Efficient troubleshooting in:
    • Windows client systems
    • Networking fundamentals (LAN, VLAN, DNS, DHCP)
    • Factory or production environments
  • Hands-on scripting/automation (Python, AI , GenAI) (added advantage)
  • Manufacturing Execution System or factory data platforms (added advantage)
  • Worked in Manufacturing / high volume factory operations environment (preferred)
