About our group:

The Recording Media Operations (RMO) manufacturing team is responsible for direct supervision of the manufacturing specialists, overseeing operational activities to meet production goals, quality, safety and cost objectives. We work with cross functional departments to implement, sustain Lean and Kaizen initiatives, improve productivity by studying work activities, analyzing value add and non-value add and motion time study, improve factory throughput by focusing improvement on bottleneck capacity, inventory and manufacturing cycle time reduction.

About the role - you will:

As a Recording Media Operations Intern, you will understudy the manufacturing supervisors and operations leads, gaining exposure to how production teams are managed and how operational decisions are made. You will support daily activities that help the team meet production goals in volume, quality, cost, and safety. You will:

  • Understudy supervisors to learn how they lead manufacturing specialists, including exposure to shift coordination, work distribution, and issue escalation.
  • Assist with monitoring daily operations, collecting data and preparing summaries used by supervisors to review production performance.
  • Support planning and organizing activities, such as manpower allocation, materials readiness, and shift preparation tasks.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities, including productivity studies, quality checks, and sustainability‑related initiatives.
  • Support BCMS (Business Continuity Management System) activities by assisting with documentation updates, readiness checklists, and drill preparations.
  • Observe and assist with staff performance processes, such as compiling data for job expectations, monitoring tools, or performance review materials.
  • Help supervisors in coaching‑related tasks by preparing training aids, maintaining procedure documents, and ensuring policy compliance is documented.
  • Assist in implementing systems, policies, and procedures by helping to track adherence and gather feedback from Manufacturing Specialist.
  • Collaborate with leadership to help prepare inputs for performance plans, improvement reviews, and PDCA (Plan‑Do‑Check‑Act) cycles.

Your experience includes:

  • Currently pursuing a Diploma in Engineering or a related discipline
  • Basic understanding of operations or manufacturing processes
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Interest in continuous improvement, productivity studies, or factory operations

Location:

Our Woodlands site is one of the largest electronics manufacturing sites in Singapore, housing our recording media operations. Spread over three sites, it is easily accessible via bus or from the MRT Station, with many employees taking mass transportation to work.
