About the role - you will:

As an intern reports directly to the Training Supervisor under Operation Training Department. We are seeking a proactive and tech-savvy intern to join Seagate’s Media Manufacturing Operation Training Department.  This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to manufacturing training processes while contributing to Generative AI (Gen AI) projects that enhance workforce development and operational efficiency. 

  • Collaborate with Training Supervisor, Trainers, Engineers, and project leads to design and implement AI-driven solutions for training content automation, knowledge management, and process optimization.
  • Assist in creating and digitizing training materials for media manufacturing operations.
  • Support the use of Generative AI tools to automate documentation, generate training guides, and develop interactive learning content.
  • Collect and organize training-related data, process documentation, and performance metrics.
  • Perform basic analysis to identify gaps and opportunities for improving training effectiveness.
  • Participate in building and fine-tuning AI models for applications such as automated knowledge retrieval, chatbot-based training assistance, and predictive learning analytics.
  • Validate AI outputs to ensure accuracy and relevance for manufacturing training needs.
  • Assist in integrating AI-driven tools into existing training platforms and workflows.
  • Collaborate with IT and training teams to ensure smooth deployment and user adoption.
  • Maintain clear records of AI project progress, training updates, and process improvements.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders on project outcomes and recommendations.

Your experience includes:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or related fields.
  • Strong interest in manufacturing operations and workforce training.
  • Basic knowledge of Python and data analysis tools; familiarity with AI/ML concepts is a plus.
  • Good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment

Location:

Our Woodlands site is one of the largest electronics manufacturing sites in Singapore, housing our recording media operations. Spread over three sites, it is easily accessible via bus or from the MRT Station, with many employees taking mass transportation to work.
