This role is an individual contributor position, reporting to the Manager of the Global Factory IT group, based in Singapore. Join us in shaping Seagate’s future! 

About the role - you will:

We are seeking a motivated Intern to help convert our legacy Sencha application into a modern ASP.NET framework using Generative AI tools. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in web development and explore how AI can enhance software engineering.

You will also collaborate with our Data Scientists and Engineers to research and develop smart factory applications, leveraging AI to reduce capital spending and operational costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and document the current Sencha application.
  • Work with senior developers to design and build the new ASP.NET application.
  • Use GenAI tools to streamline the conversion process for better efficiency and accuracy.
  • Test and debug the new application to ensure it meets functional requirements.
  • Participate in team discussions and assist with project planning.

About you:

We are looking for a passionate candidate eager to apply AI, machine learning, and deep learning techniques to solve real-world problems.

  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
  • Familiar with web development technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Proficient in ASP.NET and C#.
  • Enthusiastic about data science and its practical applications.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Your experience includes:

A good understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies 

Project Management skill and deliver based on committed timeline.

Location:

Our Woodlands site is one of the largest electronics manufacturing sites in Singapore, housing our recording media operations. Spread over three sites, it is easily accessible via bus or from the MRT Station, with many employees taking mass transportation to work. Here at work, you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks at our onsite canteen and coffee shop. We offer a range of facilities including an in-house gym and dance studio, as well as after-work badminton and table tennis competitions.
