About our group:

The Finance team partners with Seagate Manufacturing Singapore Operations and cross-functional organizations to support financial planning, performance management, and operational decision-making in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Through financial analysis, forecasting, cost management, and process improvement initiatives, the team helps drive business performance and operational efficiency. 

As part of an evolving Finance team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of foundational finance processes, reporting frameworks, dashboards, and workflow automation initiatives. This internship offers valuable exposure to Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), operational finance, costing, fixed assets management, business analytics, and continuous improvement projects. 

You will work alongside finance professionals and business partners while gaining hands-on experience supporting operational and strategic finance activities. 

About the role - you will:

As a Finance Operations Intern, you will support financial planning and operational finance activities, working closely with business partners to monitor performance, improve reporting, and drive process efficiencies. 

You will: 

  • Assist in consolidating and analyzing weekly and monthly financial outlooks and actual performance results. 

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. 

  • Prepare and maintain recurring finance reports, dashboards, and operational metrics. 

  • Support corporate financial submissions and cost tracking activities. 

  • Assist with data preparation, validation, cleansing, and analysis to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency. 

  • Support the development and enhancement of dashboards and visualizations, primarily using Power BI and other analytics tools. 

  • Participate in process improvement projects and help identify opportunities for workflow automation and operational efficiencies. 

  • Support fixed asset accounting activities, including asset verification and tagging exercises. 

  • Assist with inventory count activities and related data reconciliation processes. 

  • Partner with other Finance teams and interns on shared initiatives and project-based work as business needs arise. 

  • Support departmental initiatives, events, and other assignments as required. 

About you:

Your experience includes:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. 

  • Basic understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, or financial reporting concepts. 

  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or similar accounting platforms is an advantage. 

  • Exposure to analytics, reporting, or automation tools such as Power BI, Tableau 

  • Basic programming in Python  

  • Understanding of KNIME & Alteryx system is an advantage

Our Woodlands site is one of the largest electronics manufacturing sites in Singapore, housing our recording media operations. Spread over three sites, it is easily accessible via bus or from the MRT Station, with many employees taking mass transportation to work.
