Engineer (MDW Product/Process Qualification)

About our group:

The Recording Media Operations (RMO) – MDW (Multi Disks Writer) Engineering team develops and supports test and software solutions that enable media and product qualification across yield, quality, and reliability metrics.

The team supports new media and product introductions, MDW process development, failure analysis, and continuous improvement activities to ensure stable mass production ramps.

We maintain and support machine firmware, desktop applications, graphical user interfaces (GUIs), and monitoring tools that are used in factory operations and engineering analysis.

About the role - you will:

• Support MDW process setup, tuning, and qualification activities for new media and product introductions
• Execute assigned tasks during launch media and new product builds, following established procedures and engineering guidance
• Perform yield, reliability, and quality data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and potential process issues
• Support failure analysis and root cause investigations related to media, MDW processes, and test systems
• Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) in collaboration with senior engineers and cross‑functional teams
• Support process changes evaluations and validations, including experiment execution, data collection, and result summarization
• Utilize MDW software and automation tools to:
  • Execute approved process recipes and configurations
  • Troubleshoot basic process or tool‑related issues
  • Support improvements to process stability and repeatability
• Prepare and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and engineering reports based on defined templates and guidelines
• Provide day‑to‑day engineering support for manufacturing, including production issues, process deviations, and continuous improvement tasks within assigned scope

Your experience includes:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Software, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing, test, or software‑related roles.
• Experience in at least one of the following areas:
  • Manufacturing or test environments
  • Engineering tool or test system development
  • Software development using Python or C / C++
• Familiarity with:
  • Software debugging using Python and/or C/C++
  • Data analysis and engineering investigations using Microsoft Excel, JMP, or similar tools
  • Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Our Woodlands site is one of the largest electronics manufacturing sites in Singapore, housing our recording media operations. Spread over three sites, it is easily accessible via bus or from the MRT Station, with many employees taking mass transportation to work.
