About our group:

The Recording Media Operations (RMO) – MDW (Multi Disks Writer) Engineering team develops and supports test and software solutions that enable media and product qualification across yield, quality, and reliability metrics.

 

The team supports new media and product introductions, MDW process development, failure analysis, and continuous improvement activities to ensure stable mass production ramps.

 

We maintain and support machine firmware, desktop applications, graphical user interfaces (GUIs), and monitoring tools that are used in factory operations and engineering analysis.

About the role - you will:

  • Support MDW process setup, tuning, and qualification for new media and product introductions.
  • Execute tasks during launch media and new product builds in accordance with defined procedures.
  • Perform yield, reliability, and quality data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and process risks.
  • Support failure analysis and root cause investigations, and assist with CAPA implementation.
  • Execute process change evaluations and validations, including experiments, data collection, and result summarization.
  • Utilize MDW software and automation tools to execute recipes, troubleshoot basic issues, maintain documentation, and provide day‑to‑day manufacturing support.

About you:

  • Effective communication skills, including clear status updates and timely risk escalation.
  • A collaborative approach when working with engineers, operators, and cross‑functional stakeholders.

Your experience includes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Software, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing, test, or software‑related roles.
  • Experience in at least one of the following areas:
    • Manufacturing or test environments
    • Engineering tool or test system development
    • Software development using Python or C / C++
  • Familiarity with:
    • Software debugging using Python and/or C/C++
    • Data analysis and engineering investigations using Microsoft Excel, JMP, or similar tools
    • Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Our Woodlands site is one of the largest electronics manufacturing sites in Singapore, housing our recording media operations. Spread over three sites, it is easily accessible via bus or from the MRT Station, with many employees taking mass transportation to work.
