The Media Process Team is at the forefront of innovation, specializing in lubricant application and UV curing technology for enhanced product reliability. Our tape burnish division leverages advanced equipment, along with a myriad of tape materials and abrasives, to ensure exceptional surface quality vital for low flying height testing.

About the role - you will:

As a Backend Process Intern, you will work closely with seasonal professionals who will provide comprehensive training in Backend process equipment such as Lube, Tape Burnish and UV Cure.

  • Understanding the media manufacturing process from start to end
  • Hands-on experience with Tape Burnish equipment
  • Gain hands-on experience in data acquisition such as KPIV (Key Process Input Variables), media performance data and drive performance data
  • Correlations studies between Tape Burnish KPIVs and media/drive performance information
  • Collaboration with Failure Analysis for Tableau reporting format
  • Report generation and presentation

What Will You Learn and Embark on at the Start?

  • You will start by understanding the fundamentals of Backend Process including the measurement tools for day-to-day process monitoring.
  • You will learn the terminology used in media manufacturing and the applications used to obtain the data for your correlation study.
  • Your initial tasks will be focused on supporting ongoing projects and ongoing process monitoring solutions using AI tools and software
  • Data Analysis – Data Mining, correlation Drive KPOVs with Machine KPIVs
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams in ongoing projects.

About you:

  • Able to commit a full time semester internship (May/Jul to Dec) 

Your experience includes:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering & Data Analytics or any relevant fields
  • Familiarity with data analysis or visualization concepts
  • Proficiency in Python required
  • Knowledge in SQL, Tableau or Power BI will be added advantage

Location:

Our Woodlands site is one of the largest electronics manufacturing sites in Singapore, housing our recording media operations. Spread over three sites, it is easily accessible via bus or from the MRT Station, with many employees taking mass transportation to work.
