About our group:

We are an engineering team responsible for design and development of test hardware and software for electronics assemblies used in various Seagate products. These include PCBAs/ PCCAs for Hard Disc Drives. We work closely with various product design engineering teams such as Hardware Engineering and Firmware Engineering to develop custom test hardware, firmware and software to provide optimum test coverage for these assemblies.

About the role - you will:

  • Design and develop custom test hardware solutions using commercially available standard components
  • Work on new test hardware designs and upgrades to meet or exceed product specifications
  • Devise new architectures and methods based on available components to meet requirements
  • Devise hardware patches for specific product failure modes and/or obsoletion of current components
  • Communicate and work with software engineers in the team for new software requirements for new hardware
  • Work closely with experienced professionals who will provide support/guidance and provide support/guidance to junior team members
  • Collaborate with teams from Design Engineering, Firmware Development, Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Engineering for test effectiveness and efficiency

About you:

  • Possess Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Electrical/ Electronics Engineering
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated engineer who is passionate about electronics design
  • Intellectually curious to adopt new knowledge and pay attention to details
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex engineering and technical concepts
  • Team Player with ability to work with various teams
  • Ability to demonstrate Seagate core values of integrity, inclusion, and innovation

Your experience includes:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in electronics design
  • Knowledge of Hard Disc Drive operation
  • Design of high speed (>5GHz) analog and digital circuits using differential ECL/CML logic, RF amplifiers, PLLs, CDRs, serializers, deserializers, etc.
  • Complex timing analysis
  • Signal integrity and power integrity analysis
  • Board power supply and thermal calculations
  • Logic design and coding in FPGA (preferably Intel Altera)
  • Fluency in schematics and PCB design tools (preferably Mentor Xpedition)
  • Experience in C/C++ programming, NI systems and LabVIEW are added advantages
