About our group:

Seagate Research Group conducts research to transform Seagate’s considerable technical expertise, innovation, and manufacturing excellence to develop innovative technologies for the rapidly growing datasphere. 

Data Storage and Memory Devices research explore novel data storage technology at device and systems level and create proof-of-concept (PoC) for the fast-growing datasphere and further exploring device innovations at micro/nano scale that leverage Seagate core competencies.  

About the role - you will:

As an Electronics Design Engineering intern with Seagate Research Group, you will work closely with a team of experienced engineers to design, develop, and test IT electronic systems and components for high-density data storage. This internship will provide you with hands-on experience in a dynamic and research-based environment. You will: 

 

  • Design and execute comprehensive tests, test cases, and scripts to validate performance. 

  • Conduct root cause analysis, troubleshoot hardware defects, and implement preventive actions. 

  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in data storage technologies and their applications. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies into the existing systems. 

 

About you:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and curious intern who is passionate about data storage technologies. You will thrive in this role if you: 

  • You have a strong interest in hands-on work with data storage devices and IT hardware. 

  • Are proactive in conducting experiments, extracting data, analyzing results, and providing meaningful insights. 

  • You have a passion for learning, problem-solving, and working in a collaborative environment. 

Your experience includes:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology related courses. 

  • Exposure to IT hardware and components, with an interest in testing, debugging, and system analysis. 

  • Good problem-solving and debugging skills, with a keen interest in troubleshooting hardware issues. 

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across different engineering teams. 

Location:

The Shugart site (named after Seagate’s founder, Al Shugart) is a research and design center. Easily accessible from the One-North MRT Station, many employees choose to take mass-transportation to work. Being a purpose built building, The Shugart has excellent employee recreational facilities. Take an active break at our badminton courts, table tennis tables, in-house gym and recreation rooms. We also offer classes and interest groups in photography, gardening and foreign languages, and have various on-site celebrations, and community volunteer opportunities.
