About our group:

You’ll be part of the Test Process & Firmware Engineering team, which is responsible for developing and maintaining firmware used in drive testing and validation. The team works closely with cross-functional engineering groups to ensure robust and efficient test coverage across various product lines.

About the role - you will:

This internship provides hands-on experience in firmware development for drive testing applications. You will contribute to the design, coding, and debugging of test firmware modules, and assist in integrating these modules into the broader test infrastructure.

About you:

  • Develop and maintain firmware components for drive testing and validation.
  • Assist in debugging and troubleshooting firmware issues during test execution.
  • Collaborate with engineers to implement new test features and improve existing ones.
  • Support firmware integration with test automation systems and data logging tools.
  • Document firmware changes and contribute to internal development guides.

Your experience includes:

  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems and microcontroller development.
  • Basic understanding of Linux and scripting (e.g., Python or Shell).
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

The Shugart site (named after Seagate’s founder, Al Shugart) is a research and design center. Easily accessible from the One-North MRT Station, many employees choose to take mass transportation to work.
