About the role - you will:

As a Sustainability Marketing Specialist Intern, you will play a crucial role in developing and promoting our sustainability initiatives. This position is ideal for students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Sustainability or a master's-level equivalent. You will work closely with our marketing team to create compelling narratives, analyze competitive landscapes, and engage with key stakeholders. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Story-telling and POV Development: Craft engaging stories and develop points of view that position our company as a thought leader in sustainability programs. Your work will help shape our brand's narrative and communicate our commitment to sustainability. 
  • Competitive Awareness / Listening Automation Process: Implement and manage processes to monitor and analyze competitive activities. Use automation tools to gather insights and stay ahead of industry trends. 
  • Sustainability Program Portfolio Positioning: Assist in positioning our sustainability program portfolio to highlight our unique value propositions. Collaborate with various departments to ensure cohesive messaging.
  • Customer Sustainability Contact Mining and Proposals for Leader Engagement: Identify and compile a list of key customer contacts involved in sustainability. Develop proposals to engage these leaders and foster meaningful relationships.

About you:

  • Strong interest in sustainability and marketing.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive and eager to learn. 

Your experience includes:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Sustainability or a master's-level equivalent and returning to school in Fall 2026.
  • Research and Analysis: Strong ability to conduct thorough research and analyze data to inform marketing strategies.
  • Story-telling: Exceptional story-telling skills to create compelling narratives that resonate with our audience.
  • Data Analysis: Proficiency in data analysis to derive actionable insights and support decision-making.
  • Presentation Development: Ability to develop clear and impactful presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
  • AI Tool Leverage: Experience or willingness to learn how to leverage AI tools for competitive analysis and marketing automation.

Our Shakopee campus is located 25 minutes southwest of Minneapolis in a setting with a rural vibe – it overlooks a horse racing track and stables, yet it has great entertainment venues close by as well. With wide-open spaces, the campus has plenty of space for running, biking, shooting some hoops or playing volleyball over lunch. If working out is your thing, the on-site fully equipped fitness center hosts wellness programs, tournaments and group workouts. Hungry? The estimated base wage range for this position is $19.00- $29.50/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Seagate offers comprehensive benefits to its eligible Interns, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, and participation in the employee stock purchase plan.  Seagate also offers Interns 12 paid holidays and a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave. The benefits for this position are based on a 24 to 40-hour-per-week schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location and tenure with the Company.
