About our group:

 

Servo Engineering’s primary mission is to provide robust ultra-precision position control technologies to enable aggressive advancement in high performance HDD areal density growth. The team also serves a critical HDD Systems role, working closely with and enabling other functions in the disciplines of Mechanical, Electrical, Recording Technology, Tribology, Customer Interface, Manufacturing, and Reliability. In this role you will be part of the Servo Product and Architectures Group and will provide high level design and architecture assistance to enable Seagate’s future roadmap.  

About the role - you will:

 

Solve challenging multidisciplinary technical problems and lead extendibility initiatives in Embedded System design to ensure a sustainable roadmap for HDD Areal Density & Performance growth.

  • Focus on enabling the servo code and electronics architecture to enable next generation features  In particular:
    • Identify code and hardware setting that pose technical problems and engineering bottlenecks in product development;
    • Develop and Implement in HDD solutions addressing the design problems
    • Perform design validation and verification;
  • Participate in cutting edge technology development in HDD Multi-actuator/Parallelism initiatives
  • Work in an open-minded environment which
    • supports and fosters Innovation.
    • supports solutions deployment in Factory for successful product development on a high volume manufacturing scale.

About you:

 

Successful Servo Architecture Engineers have excellent breadth and depth of technical capabilities, and work effectively within a highly collaborative, dynamic and capable team in a high technology lab environment.

Your experience includes:

 

  • Knowledge and skills on RISC-V, Embedded Systems is a requirement
  • High level of comfort with Matlab and basic knowledge of embedded software development

 

    • Control systems implementation
    • Matlab + Simulink, C, Python
    • Programming for embedded systems and real time computing
    • Data collection (Scopes, DAC NI Equipment)
    • Machine learning
  • Master’s in Aerospace, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $70,000- $114,000. The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
