About our group:

 

Do you have embedded firmware background? Our group designs, develops, tests, and integrates firmware solutions and supports products. We work with many teams to develop firmware solutions to implement features and functions for new products being designed. The team has a deep technical expertise in firmware design and a passion for developing innovative solutions. The team is involved in staging of recent technologies like HAMR (Heat Assisted Magnetic Recording) and the definition of the hardware and firmware architecture for the next generation products.

About the role - you will:

 

  • Analyze, design, program, debug and modifiy embedded firmware
  • Provide analysis (discover, document, communicate) of hardware and firmware functional problems or design flaws
  • Troubleshoot failures detected internally or in the customer systems
  • Build customer firmware that complies with the requirements
  • Work often involves analog and digital hardware and software operating systems
  • Gain knowledge and exposure to hardware design concepts, including ASIC/Processor systems, system-on-a-chip.
  • Program in C/C++ language

About you:

 

  • We are looking for a self-starter and self-motivated individual who can apply new knowledge quickly and effectively on the job. The candidate for this position should have good verbal and technical writing skills and the ability to work independently on a task or as a team member. 
  • You are someone who likes to take ownership of tasks and understands that your technical contributions can have significant impact. Therefore, you apply systematic design practices and are thorough in your work.

Your experience includes:

 

  • Programming in C/C++.
  • Knowledge of HDD/SSD devices and technologies  
  • Familiarity with the Agile development process  
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop good working relationships. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer/Electrical Engineering with 1-3 years of experience or Master’s degree minimum of 0-3 years of embedded firmware development experience
