About the role - you will:

This role is responsible for leading and overseeing Go-To-Market Strategy for Global Distribution.  This role will also be responsible for our global NAS (Network Attached Storage), and VIA (Video Image Analytics) portfolio.  We are looking for an influential leader with strategic thinking, comprehensive understanding of the distribution channel and a focus on driving financial success. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping Seagate's position in the Distribution market and fostering collaboration across key business functions to drive performance in revenue, gross margin, share, and operational efficiency. 

 

Strategic Planning 

  • Oversee all aspects of the “4Ps” of marketing (Product, Price, Place, Promotion) for our distribution channel business. 
  • Develop pricing strategies, product placement plans, optimal positioning plans, and effective promotion strategies to align with customer needs and business outcomes. 
     

Leadership 

  • Assume a leadership role with a focus on the financial health of Seagate as a publicly traded company. 
  • Shape strategy for the distribution channel, VIA, and NAS market segments, resulting in strong financial performance across the portfolio. 
  • Drive effective leadership-level decision-making demonstrating clear recommendations aligned to company performance. 
  • Mentor and lead market segment team members with your knowledge and experience in the Distribution channel. 

Stakeholder Management 

  • Collaborate with Finance, Sales, Operations, and Engineering to ensure a leadership position in both Products and Markets. 
  • Establish influential community and consortia strategies and leadership to drive efforts pertaining to sustainability, total ownership cost and solutions to enable partner networks. 
     

Customer Engagement 

  • Leverage knowledge of the storage ecosystem and business acumen to drive customer advocacy, strategic initiatives, operational plans, and profitability. 
  • Engage field/channel marketing and partner marketing to lead plan deployment for each country.  Understand each local channel and end customer profiles/usage to lead discussions in demand creation and total product and concept positioning. 
  • Meet with key Distribution partners from broadline distributors to value-added distributors (VADs) to form a comprehensive view of the market to inform effective product, pricing, placement, and promotion strategies. 

 

Collaboration with Sales 

  • Work closely with the sales team to understand their needs, align Go-to-Market efforts with sales objectives, and ensure a seamless customer journey. 
  • Engage regional and local alliance partners to build collaboration in technology and marketing, joint events, training, channel outreach and early endorsement. 
  • Develop and implement business plans and strategy at market segment level  
  • Grow revenue & breadth of customers while engaging to develop new non-PC channels.  
  • Manage healthy inventory levels at each segment level. 

About you:

  • Proven experience in distribution channel marketing, with a business acumen demonstration in the storage ecosystem. 
  • Strong expertise in the "4Ps" of marketing, including pricing, product placement, positioning, and promotion strategies. 
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Sales, Operations, and Engineering.  
  • Experience in community/consortia engagement and global business optimization. 
  • Strong communication skills with an emphasis on clarity. 
  • Excellent strategic thinking and planning abilities.

Your experience includes:

  • Previous P&L (Profit and Loss) responsibility is desirable. 
  • Proven track record in regional, country, segment, and partner market development.

The estimated base salary range for this position: $186,000 – $275,000. Actual salary range is based on the regional labor market of the role in the geography in which the position is located based on the requirements of the job and your skills.
