About our group:
The Seagate Design Engineering group comprises of teams across functional groups of ARS, Electrical Integration, Servo, Mechanical, Test Process and Firmware. The Advanced Recording sub-system, or ARS in short, is a highly bonded group that consists of specialists in various sub-groups of HDE (Head Disk Electrical), HDM (Head Disk Mechanical) & Channel preamp. The Head Disk Electrical (ARS-HDE) team comprises diverse and talented professionals within the broader Advanced Recording Subsystem organization. The team is distributed across three design centers (one in Asia and two in the United States) and collaborate with global engineering teams, technology partners, and manufacturing organizations to advance recording technologies. The team program Drive Development spanning the various phase of Design, Integration, Qualification & Launch. Recording sub-system to optimize tunning to improve Head & Media matching design & verified component integration robustness. Feature core system that focused on cross generation evolving designs to boost areal density. Advanced Product Development to research new ideas to gain capacity or improve reliability & quality. ARS-HDE breath of product involvement stretches from near-term product development launch to 3~4 years ahead of product design staging.
