Staff Analyst (Application Support)

About our group:

Seagate’s Johor Recording Media Organization produces both aluminum and glass substrates. The Manufacturing Execution System (MES) receives support from Global Factory IT (GFIT). The local IT team is responsible for keeping MES operational, safeguarding factory endpoints, and upholding high security standards.

About the role - you will:

Business Analyst / Co-Development

• Work closely with business users on MES projects and prepare project documentation
• Handle project prioritization with the Agile team and communicate between business users and the Agile group
• Provide quarterly reports and presentations to both business stakeholders and the IT department
• Design AI/ML/Agentic solutions to improve MES workflows and overall IT support

Incident Management & Troubleshooting

• Serve as L2 Support for key MES systems
• Document incidents and follow up with corrective actions
• Lead problem management efforts, collaborating with global teams to resolve tickets
• Forward complex problems to the development or infrastructure teams when necessary

Collaboration & Coordination

• Work directly with developers to report issues and suggest improvements
• Participate in testing software updates and deployments
• Coordinate with IT staff on integration projects and performance upgrades
• Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and automation colleagues to identify and address system or process concerns

Others

• Support business continuity and disaster recovery plans to ensure production remains resilient
• Ensure all application support actions comply with factory security, safety, and quality requirements
• Continuously look for ways to streamline processes, automate tasks, and optimize systems for better production results
• Available to provide on-call support during critical events
• Team Coordination

About you:

• Excellent knowledge of application architecture and database systems
• Skilled in troubleshooting tools and ticketing platforms
• Basic programming and scripting abilities (such as .NET, Python, C#, etc.)
• Expertise in databases including Oracle, Postgres, and BigData solutions
• Agentic AI Core Skills at a basic level
• Familiarity with Agile project management software like JIRA
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• High proficiency in English, both spoken and written
• Willingness to work onsite and provide on-call support during critical incidents
• Preferably bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field or candidates with other educational field with relevant experience will be considered

Added advantage:

• Knowledge of ITIL processes such as Incident, Problem, and Change Management (added advantage)
• Skilled in using monitoring tools (eg: Zabbix)
• Awareness of best practices and compliance requirements in information security
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms like AWS or Azure

Your experience includes:

• 5 to 7 years' experience in application development or support
• Solid grasp of application architecture and databases
• Familiarity with troubleshooting tools and ticketing systems
• Basic programming/scripting skills (.NET, Python, C#, etc.)
• Incident management and root cause analysis

Preferred: 

• Business continuity and disaster recovery planning 
• Hands-on experience with Agentic Tech Stack 
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (for example, manufacturing and engineering)
• Capable of creating user guides and training materials
• Understanding of factory security, safety, and quality standards
• Proficient with REST APIs, web backend development, SQL, and No-SQL databases
• Application of DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (for example, manufacturing and engineering)
• Capable of creating user guides and training materials
• Understanding of factory security, safety, and quality standards

Added advantage:

• DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
• Background in automation and process improvement initiatives
• Prompt Engineering or AI Automation application
• Demonstrated practical experience in developing and implementing AI, ML, and agentic-based solutions
• Possess in-depth knowledge of MES platforms, gained through work in large manufacturing environments
