About our group:

 

Our group manages the operation and maintenance of the Industrial Effluent & Ultra-Pure Water (RODI) Treatment System and Scheduled Waste Management to ensure a continuous supply of utilities and related facilities. We maintain performance levels and specifications required to support substrate manufacturing operations. 

About the role - you will:

 

  • Ensure the efficient and optimum operations of the Industrial Effluent & RODI Water Treatment System and Scheduled Waste Management system to ensure continuous supply of utilities and related facilities at the required performance level or specifications
  • Conduct Industrial Effluent Treatment System (IETS) performance monitoring as per EQR 2009, RODI Water Treatment System performance monitoring in accordance with the Seagate ST1055 requirement and Scheduled Waste Management
  • Formulate and implement preventive maintenance programs and ensure the systems are always intended
  • Conduct periodic checks and routine inspection according to the system recommendation and checklist
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment breakdowns promptly. Under urgent cases, the person shall be required to work outside normal hours
  • Ensure all equipment is operating and maintain cost effectively, safely, and efficiently
  • Supervise/Lead the work of engineering specialist, including subcontractors engaging in specialized in maintenance work
  • Update Poison Logbook, IETS/UPW chemical inventory and labelling at chemical store, manage RTV documentation & invoices
  •  Update PM checklist to SMART sheets and spare part inventory
  •  Attend to UPW supply & wastewater discharging issues at production floor if any

About you:

 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of engaging effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, results-driven, and a proactive team player
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a strong commitment to safety. Highly self-motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English language
  • Professional Certification: Certified Environmental Professional by the Environment Institute of Malaysia (EiMAS), and registered as a competent person under the National Registry of Certified Environmental Professionals (NRCEP). Possession of CeSWaM or NIOSH AGTES certification is considered an added advantage
  • Additional Qualifications: Holding a Chargeman A0, A1, or A4 certification is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Acquired a Diploma in Mechanical  Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or a Certificate in the same fields with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

Your experience includes:

 

  • Technical: At least 5 years of hands-on working background in the maintenance of industrial effluent and RODI (Reverse Osmosis Deionized) water treatment systems. Proficient in managing and servicing a wide range of equipment and instruments, including:

    • Chemical treatment and ion exchange systems
    • Biological treatment systems (activated sludge)
    • Ultrafiltration, multimedia, and activated carbon filtration systems
    • Dewatering systems (filter press, decanter, dryer)
    • HERO systems, degasifiers, and UV disinfection units
  • Equipment Maintenance Expertise: Skilled in the maintenance of various mechanical and electrical components such as:

    • Pumps: Wilden & ARO air diaphragm, centrifugal, multistage (Grundfos CRN), chemical dosing (Prominent)
    • Air blowers (rotary type, 2-lobe roots, pulley-driven), submersible pumps, submerge aerators, clarifier scrapers, mixers, and filter presses
    • Sensors and transmitters: pH, dissolved oxygen, ammoniacal nitrogen, ORP, flow, level, pressure, temperature, and leak detectors
    • Pneumatic control systems used in DOE Standard A Industrial Effluent and Ultra Pure Water (RODI) systems
  • Mechanical Skills: Proficient in tasks such as bearing replacement, oil and mechanical seal maintenance, greasing, alignment, balancing, belt replacement, and cleaning/replacement of pump components (ball seats, diaphragms, pilot sleeves, etc.).

  • Chemical Handling & Piping: Experienced in ion exchanger regeneration using sulfuric and hydrochloric acids for weak and strong acid cation resins. Skilled in PVC piping installation and troubleshooting.
