About our group:

The Occupational Health (OH) team supports employee health, workplace wellness, regulatory compliance, emergency preparedness, and health-related programs across the JBS site. The team works closely with EHS, Facilities, Security, HR, Talent Acquisition, and external healthcare providers to ensure effective health services, compliance readiness, and continuous improvement in employee wellbeing. This internship offers a practical opportunity to support day-to-day OH operations, health program coordination, documentation, data management, and communication activities within a professional manufacturing environment.

About the role - you will:

as an Occupational Health intern will support the Occupational Health team in administrative coordination, health program implementation, documentation, data tracking, and employee communication activities. Key responsibilities may include assisting with wellness campaigns, medical surveillance coordination, pre-employment health screening workflows, training records, clinic inventory tracking, and preparation of reports or presentation materials for OH initiatives. 

  • Support OH health promotion and wellness programs, including awareness campaigns, health talks, and employee engagement activities. 

  • Assist with data entry, tracking, and basic analysis for OH reports, employee health programs, training records, and compliance documentation. 

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external service providers on scheduling, documentation, and follow-up activities. 

  • Help prepare communication materials, slides, forms, checklists, and simple process guides for OH programs. 

  •  Support clinic administrative tasks such as inventory monitoring, document filing, appointment coordination, and audit readiness preparation.

What Will You Learn and Embark on at the Start? 

The intern will begin by learning the scope of Occupational Health services, including clinic operations, employee health programs, compliance requirements, emergency response support, and internal communication processes. Initial onboarding will include guidance from the OH team, familiarization with site procedures, and hands-on support for ongoing OH activities. 

 

What You Would Ultimately Be Able to Be Proficient In? 

Through the internship, the candidate will develop practical exposure to Occupational Health operations, workplace health program coordination, regulatory documentation, data management, and stakeholder collaboration. By the end of the internship, the intern is expected to gain confidence in supporting structured OH processes and contributing to employee health and wellbeing initiatives.

About you:

The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with people across different functions. The role is suitable for someone who is eager to learn, able to maintain confidentiality, and willing to support both administrative and program-based activities in a healthcare and workplace environment. 

Your experience includes:

  • Currently pursuing studies related to Occupational Safety and Health, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, Environmental Health, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or other related fields.
  • Basic computer literacy, communication skills
  • Willingness to learn
