The Factory Sustainable Engineering (FSE) team is responsible for driving manufacturing excellence through tooling innovation, process optimization, factory automation, and continuous improvement initiatives. We collaborate with manufacturing, process, equipment, quality, and production teams to improve productivity, reduce operational costs, increase equipment reliability, and enhance process capability.
About the role - you will:
· As a Tooling & Process Optimization Research Intern, you will participate in engineering projects focused on tooling development, process improvement, and manufacturing optimization. You will work closely with engineers and technical specialists to analyze existing manufacturing processes, identify improvement opportunities, and develop data-driven solutions. · Research and analyze manufacturing tooling performance and process capability. · Study production workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and cycle time. · Conduct data collection, statistical analysis, and root cause investigations on manufacturing issues. · Support tooling design validation, prototype testing, and process qualification activities. · Evaluate automation and digitalization opportunities for engineering and manufacturing processes. · Develop dashboards, reports, and visualization tools to monitor process performance. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Quality, and Production. · Document research findings, engineering analyses, and recommendations. · Present project progress and final results to engineering management and stakeholders. · Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

Your experience includes:
· Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SPC, or Industrial Engineering principles. · Basic understanding of CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or equivalent). · Experience with programming, automation, data analytics, or machine learning is a plus. · Knowledge of semiconductors, electronics, or high-volume manufacturing environments is advantageous.
