Test Development Engineer

About our group:
Our test platform development team is under Characterization and Analysis Group (CAG) that provides test solutions to support design learnings at the transducer level to the Transducer Design teams. We work closely with CAG-US and transducer designers in MN, USA, and Springtown, UK.
About the role - you will:
- Collaborate with the Test Development team to configure testers and components, covering both hardware and software aspects.
- Support tester control systems, including maintenance and system conversion activities.
- Manage tester spare parts and plan procurement in alignment with the tester roadmap.
- Conceive, design, and develop tester hardware solutions using professionally accepted engineering techniques, practices, and procedures.
- Exercise independent judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve effective engineering results.
About you:
You are a practical, execution focused technical contributor who enjoys hands on work and takes pride in maintaining stable, well functioning systems. You are comfortable operating within defined engineering frameworks while applying sound judgment to resolve issues and improve efficiency.
You bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Solid understanding of basic electrical and mechanical systems, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a lab or manufacturing like environment.
- A strong sense of ownership, with a disciplined and detail oriented approach to daily execution.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse, cross functional team.
- A positive, “can do” mindset with willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new responsibilities.
- The ability to plan and manage your own tasks, prioritize competing demands, and meet commitments in a dynamic environment.
Your experience includes:
- Hands on experience with electronic measurement and test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and related lab instruments (preferred).
- Experience supporting, maintaining, or operating complex test systems or production equipment is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with basic troubleshooting methodologies and root cause analysis.
- Exposure to hardware systems, cabling, fixtures, or test automation environments is a plus.
