We are the Global Factory IT team at Seagate, responsible for MES and implementing data-driven solutions to support business decisions and operations. Leveraging AI, ML, and modern technologies, we enable real-time data analysis, predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and process optimization. About the role - you will:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in factory operations, production, and IT to gather, document, and validate business requirements.
  • Analyze existing processes, workflows, and data to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Define and document functional and technical requirements for manufacturing systems (ERP, MES, FIS, IoT platforms, etc.).
  • Support system implementation, upgrades, and integration projects within the factory.
  • Develop, implement, and support software solutions for data collection, integration, and analysis in a manufacturing environment.
  • Apply AI/ML techniques for anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, and early detection of equipment or process issues.
  • Support and maintain existing software and analytics solutions, ensuring high quality and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for troubleshooting and operational procedures.
  • Prepare presentations and guides for internal knowledge sharing.

About you:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 0–5 years of experience in IT, business analysis, or application/software development. Recent graduates are welcome.
  • Internship or academic project experience in system analysis or process improvement is a plus.


Technical Skills

  • Requirements gathering & analysis: Ability to elicit, document, and validate business requirements using structured techniques.
  • Process modeling & documentation: Familiarity with flowcharts, UML diagrams, or BPMN models to represent system workflows.
  • Specification writing: Experience drafting Functional Specifications, Use Cases, and User Stories for development teams.
  • Data analysis & reporting: Competence in analyzing datasets, creating reports, and interpreting trends using tools like Excel, SQL queries, or BI tools.
  • Technical documentation & presentation: Ability to create clear troubleshooting guides and prepare presentations for stakeholders.
  • Programming and scripting skills: Proficiency in Python and C#; Java or other languages is a plus. Ability to write scripts for automation or data validation.
  • SQL and database knowledge: Medium-level proficiency in SQL and understanding of relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL).
  • Tools familiarity: Experience with VSCode, PyCharm, Visual Studio, JIRA, Confluence, Excel, BI tools, and version control (Git).
  • AI/ML: Experience or interest in applying AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, Keras, scikit-learn, PyTorch) to manufacturing problems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Gen AI tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, or Gemini is a plus.
  • Data acquisition from industrial sensors, IoT devices, or factory automation systems is a plus.
  • Experience with anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, or root cause analysis in manufacturing is a plus.
  • Experience with big data platforms and real-time data processing is a plus.
