About our group:

Responsible to develop Head Gimbal Assembly process to meet new product design requirement, build up intensive knowledge of the process and enable optimum process setting and control. Work with Design center and factory to deploy new process and knowledge to achieve quality, delivery and cost goal. 

The role emphasizes mechanical engineering–driven HGA process development, with focus on mechanical behavior, reliability and finite element analysis (FEA) to support design validation and manufacturing integration. 

About the role - you will:

  • Work with design engineer in USA to understand assembly process requirement for future products. 
  • Develop Head Gimbal Assembly technique and related process technologies, with consideration of mechanical behavior and process robustness. 
  • Support integration of adhesive materials into HGA process, with focus on mechanical integrity, reliability, and manufacturing qualification per technology roadmap. 
  • Study and determine transfer function of Head Gimbal Assembly CTQ’s (Critical to Quality) and HGA cleanliness. 
  • Using transfer function to determine optimum setting and controlling. 
  • Document process procedure and knowledge. 
  • Educate factory and design center on new process knowledge. 
  • Work with factory to implement new process and optimum control method. 
  • Perform or support finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate stress, deformation, and mechanical risks related to HGA assembly and process design. 
  • Translate mechanical analysis and simulation results into process CTQs, design guidelines, and manufacturing control strategies. 

About you:

  • Experience in Hard Disk Drive manufacturing with strong mechanical engineering background. 
  • Experience in adhesive material or cleaning technology is a plus. 
  • Fluent of English communication both spoken and written. 
  • Good statistics or Six sigma + Design For Six Sigma trained 
  • Excellent interpersonal, planning, organization and team skills, mentoring, training and presentation skills. 
  • Excellent in teamwork, leadership and coach ability.
