Sr Staff Commodity Manager

About our group:

The Global Supply Chain – Indirect Commodity Management Team is responsible for defining and executing sourcing, procurement, and overall supply chain strategy for Indirect commodities that support our global factories, design centers and customer services operations. These commodities are non-product-related materials and services that are essential for the day-to-day operations of our business. Indirect commodities consist of freight services, contract logistics, chemicals, consumables, packaging and other supporting services.

About the role - you will:

• Be responsible for the strategic sourcing and procurement sourcing of indirect commodities worldwide and will focus on freight services, contract logistics and customers services operations to support Seagate factories and related operations globally.
• Drive competitive sourcing process with Seagate e-sourcing tool to ensure fairness and transparency and identify best in class suppliers based on comprehensive data analysis.
• Conduct market research to understand trends, pricing, availability, and emerging suppliers or technologies to helps to make informed decisions about sourcing and cost optimization.
• Work across multiple time zones with cross functional teams to develop sourcing strategies to ensure supply base is consistent with roadmap and production requirements.
• Monitor the cost, schedule, and performance aspects of major contracts to ensure best in class performance through business reviews and engaging in regular supplier collaboration.
• Drive initiatives to enhance business processes, mitigate risks, achieve functional excellence, and ensure supply continuity for indirect materials teams.
• Drive cost saving initiatives to identify opportunities to reduce total cost of ownership through consolidation of suppliers, volume, operating sites, or other cost-effective alternatives.

About you:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Engineering and/or Business Administration.
• Demonstrates excellence in both collaborative team environments and independent work.
• Proficient in English with strong writing & communication skills. 
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and Power Point)
• Confident in deliver presentations to all levels of management, including executive leadership, to secure support for team souring decision and strategies.
• Ability to travel as per business needs for supplier engagement, on-site meeting, and team collaboration.

Your experience includes:

• At least 5 ~ 10 years combination of experience in commodity management, procurement, or supply chain management, with a demonstrated ability to handle sourcing / procurement strategies and supplier relationships.
• Experience with procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or specialized e-sourcing platforms like E-Bravo) is an added advantage.
• Collaboration within team environments and building partnerships with external supplier and internal stakeholders.
• Negotiation and conflicts managements
