Sr Material handling Process Engineer (New Grads)
Samut Prakan, TH
About our group:
The Process Engineer is responsible for monitoring and optimizing critical process parameters related to material handling form factors (such as tape-tray) and flows across manufacturing operations. The role focuses on improving yield, process robustness, and operational efficiency through data-driven analysis and systematic problem-solving. The engineer collaborates closely with software, tooling, equipment, and logistics teams to develop and implement material handling improvements that enhance manufacturability, reliability, and compliance with product and technology roadmaps. This includes defining and validating process and equipment modifications, ensuring seamless integration with manufacturing systems, and maintaining strong alignment with cleanliness and quality requirements. The position also leads cross-functional investigations to address process or equipment excursions, ensuring sustainable corrective actions and long-term process stability.
About the role - you will:
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with Process Engineering (PE), ComET, Manufacturing, and Logistics teams to define, optimize, and integrate end-to-end material process flows and handling methodologies for alternative form factors throughout the HGA process.
• Coordinate with logistics and planning teams to align material movement, packaging, and storage concepts to meet factory objectives.
• Drive process architecture definition, ensuring robust alignment between material flow design, factory layout, automation strategy, and data integration systems.
• Evaluate and standardize material handling solutions—such as trays, and tape formats—to improve manufacturability, reliability, and cleanliness across production stages.
• Ensure seamless alignment of material processes with data systems supporting manufacturing control and engineering development activities.
• Demonstrate strong expertise in Design of Experiments (DOE), Ship on Tape, and Test on Tape methodologies, effectively applying these principles to enhance material and manufacturing workflows.
• Lead or support cross-functional initiatives focused on cleanliness, yield improvement, and process enhancement related to the Slider on Tape process.
• Oversee the qualification and validation of new material forms, process routes, and equipment modifications to support technology roadmap deployment and factory readiness.
• Monitor and analyze Key Process Input Variables (KPIVs) (e.g., sorting file, output tray, slider data) and Key Process Output Variables (KPOVs) (e.g., fail pick-up, missing parts, UPH, OEE) to maintain optimal machine performance.
• Investigate and verify Feedforward / ODS-Seatrack data for slider sorting by binning as required by manufacturing.
• Collaborate closely with Process Engineers on slider sorting and binning strategies, including combining slider lots to maximize output per tray.
• Collaborate with Slider-Product engineer and HGA Process engineer for binning configuration sorting.
• Set up High-Speed Pick and Place (HsPnP) sorting recipes, including tray output configuration and slider bin allocation in output tray slots as manufacturing requirment
• Develop multi time-sorting concepts with FIS and Process team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to upstream (Feedforward, ODS-Seatrack) /downstream (SDET/ComET) processes, production lines, machines, recipes, systems, and processes.
• Conduct experiments and investigations to improve product quality, delivery, and cost metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Initiate and consult on improvement ideas to achieve team, department, and company goals.
• Apply statistical tools to support data-driven engineering decisions.
• Work closely with operations, software, tooling, and maintenance teams to enable successful execution of new technologies.
• Manage technology and/or process transfers between sites or departments.
• Drive process improvements in equipment, cleanliness, machine throughput (OEE), and sorting systems.
• Maintain and advance chemical knowledge relevant to the process.#entrylevel
About you:
• Background in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with statistical analysis and process control.
Your experience includes:
• Familiarity with high-speed automation and sorting systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
