About our group:

The Development Electrical Integration team is a part of Characterization and Analytics Group (CAG), Recording Head Technology. We drive advanced test solutions and deliver critical design insights at the transducer level for the Recording Head Design teams. Our work spans close collaboration with global teams in Minnesota, USA and Springtown, UK, and we play a key role in shaping the future of recording head technology.

About the role - you will:

  • Lead the qualification and implementation of innovative test applications and tools (hardware/software) for design validation and process control, partnering with Test Development and R&D Operations teams.
  • Drive magnetic recording experiments and advanced data analysis, providing technical leadership and presenting impactful findings to the Recording Head Development team.
  • Architect and deliver engineering solutions for R&D operations, introducing new methodologies and industry-leading techniques.
  • Exercise independent judgment and creativity in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve ambitious outcomes.
  • Build formal networks and collaborate across teams and geographies, influencing technical direction and aligning stakeholders.

About you:

  • Strategic thinker with strong planning and organizational skills, able to take ownership of team and project results.
  • Effective communicator, skilled at conveying complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and driving alignment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in English, both spoken and written.

Your experience includes:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience with programming languages, automated data acquisition/processing/visualization, and large-scale data analysis.
  • Demonstrated expertise in programming languages, automated data acquisition/processing/visualization, and large-scale data analysis.
  • Experience leading complex projects and influencing technical direction across teams.
  • Familiarity with electronic test equipment (e.g., electrical circuits, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers), as well as characterization methodologies such as Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), or similar techniques — preferred.
