Senior Electrical Design Engineer

About our group:

Characterization & Analytics Group (CAG) will support HGA (Head Gimbal Assembly) evaluation for qualify at the M0&M1 level (Maturity Level 0 & Level 1) for new technology and new process development. We work closely with the design team at Normandale, USA, Springtown, UK and Asia development team for execution experiments and deliver summary results.

About the role - you will:

  • Design electrical and pneumatic circuits and perform fundamental computations for industrial machines.
  • Select components according to Seagate's SOP39 safety standard.
  • Create electrical and pneumatic diagrams/schematics.
  • Perform 3D CAD modeling and 2D CAD drafting using computer-aided design programs, such as SolidWorks.
  • Provide Seagate’s document support.
  • Study and implement Seagate's SOP39 safety standards in development projects.

About you:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Design or related fields.
  • Proficient in fundamental computer-aided design programs (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Knowledge of PLC programming.
  • Understanding of electrical circuit design.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety in manufacturing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • A team player.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong analytical skills.

Your experience includes:

  • Equipment design for manufacturing.
  • Experience with electrical CAD software or related tools.
  • Experience in hard disk drive manufacturing (preferred).
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Data analytics experience.
  • Problem-solving skills in engineering.
