About our group:
Global Operations IT supports manufacturing applications, data services, and integration platforms that enable reliable factory operations. The team works with manufacturing, process, equipment, infrastructure, security, application, database, and enterprise data organizations to operate and improve factory information systems and cross-process data flows.
About the role - you will:
The Sr. Analyst, Data Operations & Engineering serves as the technical lead for manufacturing data operations, including Apache NiFi, SQL, ETL/data flows, and Oracle and PostgreSQL connectivity, and provides L2/L3 support for complex FIS and data-flow issues. The role enables the 24/7 L1 FIS Operations team through knowledge, training, standards, and escalation procedures, while leading advanced investigation, recovery, root-cause analysis, and preventive improvement in collaboration with application, infrastructure, database, and data teams.
- Provide technical leadership for manufacturing data operations, ETL services, data-flow reliability, monitoring, recovery, and continuous improvement.
- Define technical standards, operational procedures, service ownership boundaries, escalation paths, and readiness requirements for critical data services.
- Guide the design and improvement of Apache NiFi pipelines, data collection, validation, transformation, routing, replay, reconciliation, exception handling, and lineage.
- Lead complex incident investigation, technical recovery, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and prevention of recurring failures.
- Review operational trends and risks to prioritize monitoring improvements, automation, resiliency, documentation, and technical debt reduction.
- Coordinate technical work across application, infrastructure, network, cybersecurity, database, enterprise data, and factory teams.
- Enable the 24/7 L1 FIS Operations team with current knowledge-base articles, runbooks, standard procedures, troubleshooting guides, recovery instructions, and clear escalation criteria.
- Plan and deliver technical training, knowledge-transfer sessions, practical troubleshooting exercises, and coaching for L1 personnel.
- Define the standard incidents L1 can resolve, first-response checks to perform, evidence to collect, and conditions for escalation.
- Act as the L2/L3 escalation point for incidents that cannot be resolved through approved L1 procedures.
- Analyze logs, pipeline status, interfaces, files, messages, SQL results, dependencies, and service behavior to isolate complex failures.
- Recover and reconcile disrupted data flows, validate downstream delivery, support business-impact communication, and restore services safely.
- Lead deep technical investigation of recurring, high-impact, or cross-system issues and implement permanent fixes, monitoring controls, failover improvements, automation, and data-quality safeguards.
- Convert L2/L3 findings into improved L1 knowledge, diagnostics, alerts, training, and preventive controls.
- Support manufacturing data services across Slider, HGA, HSA, Drive, SDET, ComET, DVL, FDB, ETS, and related environments.
- Monitor data arrival, pipeline execution, queues, service health, failures, recovery, and downstream delivery.
- Support factory data transfers including Slider-to-HGA, HGA-to-HSA/Drive, and HGA-to-EDW flows.
- Use strong SQL and database knowledge to troubleshoot data issues, validate schemas and interfaces, and identify database-related dependencies.
- Work closely with Oracle and PostgreSQL database teams on connectivity, access, performance, capacity, backup/recovery, patching, high availability, security, migration, and upgrade activities.
- Support FISGetPutServer and FISFactoryService installation, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, failover, relay, and feed-forward integration.
- Provide advanced support for SeaTrack, Unify SeaTrack, PARIS, CMS, FDB/DVL, work-order tools, equipment tracking, and shop-floor event-history integrations.
- Maintain technical designs, service inventories, configuration records, data-flow maps, runbooks, recovery procedures, support contacts, and escalation matrices.
About you:
You are a hands-on senior IT professional who can lead technical data-operations practices without being a people manager. You translate deep technical knowledge into clear guidance for frontline operations, take ownership of difficult escalations, coach L1 personnel, investigate cross-system data issues, and coordinate specialist teams until services are stabilized and preventive improvements are implemented.
Your experience includes:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong experience in production data operations, ETL/data integration, data-flow services, or manufacturing IT.
- Experience providing L2/L3 production support within a tiered 24/7 support and escalation model.
- Ability to lead technical problem solving and develop knowledge-base articles, runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and L1 training material.
- Experience building or operating ETL/data-flow pipelines; Apache NiFi experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong SQL and relational-database knowledge, including Oracle and PostgreSQL concepts, connectivity, schemas, transactions, query troubleshooting, performance considerations, and data integrity.
- Ability to work effectively with DBA teams on database incidents, access, backup/recovery, high availability, capacity, patching, migration, and performance issues.
- Strong incident leadership, root-cause analysis, technical communication, coaching, and cross-team collaboration skills.
- Preferred: Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing, MES/FIS, shop-floor, equipment integration, or traceability systems.
- Preferred: Participation in Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migration or application stabilization in partnership with DBA teams.
- Preferred: Python, PowerShell, Bash, or equivalent scripting for operational automation and data validation.
- Preferred: Kafka or event streaming, enterprise data warehouses, observability platforms, or data-quality frameworks.
- Preferred: Knowledge of ITIL, incident/problem management, change management, BC/DR, cybersecurity, and audit controls.
