About our group:
Characterization & Analytic Group (CAG)’s mission is to provide a physics-based understanding of reliability & RSS limiters, via new test development, expert execution, and advanced data analytics. We are responsible for the design, programming, debugging and modification of firmware applications to support DVL Test Development. Close alignment with Reader Design and Test.
About the role - you will:
•    Work with design team to identify new designs which may have process interactions and ensure that those interactions are explored and quantified to allow for improved time to learning and improved quality of learning
•    Work with Test Development and R&D Operation teams to develop, qualify, and deploy test applications and test tools (Hardware/Software) for design feedback and test process control
•    Be responsible for driving code developments, including new test developments, debugging and modification that will be used to support key technology and new design evaluations
•    Be responsible for allocating work within the team when assigned as project owner or leader
•    Be expected to work and communicate effectively in cross-functional teams such as R&D production, Recording Head design, Electrical and Mechanical Integration teams 
•    Exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
•    Manage test evaluation requests and provide the first level data analysis (JMP) including deep drive failure analysis.  
•    Work collaboratively within a team environment of engineers to meet aggressive goals and high-quality standards. 
•    Be assigned on additional tasks and responsibilities that will positively contribute towards team, department, and company goals. 
About you:
•    Experience to work with team, leadership, and coaching ability
•    Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, organizing, teamwork, mentoring training and presentation skills
•    Ability to effectively plan, control and take responsibility for design evaluation's results
•    Ability to communicate complex technical material with groups outside of engineering and any support functions.
•    Able to prioritize multiple tasks, manage conflicting deadlines, and work effectively in a dynamic environment
•    Fluent in English communication both spoken and written
Your experience includes:
•    PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering discipline and/or equivalent experience
•    Computer programming languages (e.g. Python, C), automated data collection and processing (e.g. SQL, JMP), and analysis of large datasets
•    Skilled in the use of electronic equipment (electrical circuits, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.) – Preferable
