This Information Security intern position is in the Infosec Operations team at Seagate. The Infosec intern will work across different areas such as network security, endpoint detection and response, cloud security, and threat hunting.  We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Information Security Intern to assist in the setup, execution, and maintenance of our Information Security Awareness Training program and support the creation and management of compliance dashboards. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in the field of information security, compliance, and security awareness.

About the role - you will:

  •  Assist in the Development and Execution of Security Awareness Training:
    • Support in the setup and rollout of internal security awareness training programs.
    • Assist in organizing training sessions and tracking employee participation.
    • Help ensure training content is up-to-date and relevant to emerging cybersecurity threats and company policies.
  • Create and Maintain Compliance Dashboards:
    • Assist in the development of real-time compliance dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to security awareness, training, and overall information security posture.
    • Support the ongoing collection of data for compliance metrics and assist in automating reports for easy monitoring by management.
    • Help identify gaps or trends in compliance data and assist in preparing reports for leadership teams.
  • Provide General Administrative Support:
    • Provide general support to the Information Security team with research, documentation, and other ad-hoc tasks as needed
    • Assist with maintaining records related to training and compliance

About you:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
  • A proactive approach to identifying challenges and proposing practical solutions

Your experience includes:

  • Familiarity with security concepts, compliance frameworks, data extraction, manipulation, analysis, data visualization tools (e.g., Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Excel)
  • A genuine interest in cybersecurity and learning about security best practices and compliance standards
  • Ability to translate complex security concepts into clear, digestible content for non-technical employees
