The Product Assurance Engineering Team is part of the Seagate Quality function and is accountable and responsible for verification and validation of products in Seagate’s HDD, SSD and Systems portfolios. We are part of a fast-paced, global team with the objective of to deliver the world’s most affordable solution for mass capacity environments. About the role - you will:

Be responsible for writing and executing new tests for mass capacity storage systems (both RAID and non-RAID based) as part of our quality/reliability validation process.

Have the opportunity to test the Seagate Systems to help ensure quality

Identify problems before release and early in the development lifecycle.

Be responsible to ensure that the product meets all the industry standards by executing different certifications and customer use cases.

Use a variety of skills and will have the opportunity to explore and use new and emerging technologies.

About you:

  • We are looking for intelligent, organized, driven, and effective team members
  • Knowledge of Storage Domain; Cloud Systems
  • Understanding of RAID based storage system architectures
  • Familiarity with IO generation tools
  • Good understanding of manual and automated testing
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of Object Store
  • Knowledge of System Engineering, OS Internals
  • Knowledge of setting up hardware (Storage, Server)

Your experience includes:

  • Experience and understanding of basic storage concepts
  • Experience with developing and executing test plans
  • Setup and maintain rack-level hardware, including loading and configuring operating systems
  • Write test standards and procedures
  • Maintain documentation of test results to assist in debugging of software
  • Exercise judgement in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Basic knowledge of test automation using Python
  • Knowledge and experience with Linux, Microsoft Windows, and VMware Cloud services
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Jenkins and Git, Networking Basics
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
