About our group:

The Staff Engineer – Technology Staging Strategy Planning is responsible for driving end-to-end technology readiness planning across PTD and slider factory. This role ensures alignment between technology development maturity, product roadmap requirements, and execution timelines. The engineer will lead staging strategy definition, prioritize development activities, and enable cross-functional coordination to ensure technologies are delivered on time with the required readiness level to support product ramps.

About the role - you will:

  • Technology Readiness Planning: Define and manage technology staging strategy across PTD programs, ensuring alignment with ramp schedules. Establish readiness criteria, tracking methodology, and risk assessment for key technology enablers
  • Development Prioritization: Drive prioritization of technology development activities based on product roadmap needs, business impact, and resource constraints. Identify critical gaps vs. committed timelines and lead mitigation planning
  • Roadmap Alignment: Align cross-functional roadmaps (process, equipment, materials, integration) to ensure synchronized delivery of required capabilities. Translate product requirements into actionable technology development plans
  • Cross-functional Leadership: Coordinate with R&D, Process Integration, Equipment Engineering, Operations, and Program teams to ensure end-to-end execution. Drive decision-making through data-driven analysis and structured reviews
  • Risk & Gap Management: Proactively identify risks to technology readiness and product schedules.Lead root cause analysis and corrective action plans for readiness gaps
  • Performance Tracking & Reporting: Develop dashboards and metrics to track technology readiness, milestones, and execution progress. Provide regular updates to leadership on status, risks, and mitigation plans

About you:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, or related field)
  • Strong experience in technology development, process integration, or product within manufacturing environments (e.g., HDD, semiconductor, or similar)
  • Proven experience in project/program management and cross-functional coordination
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Your experience includes:

  • Experience in technology readiness frameworks (e.g., TRL or similar staging models)
  • Prior involvement in product ramp planning and high-volume manufacturing transition
  • Familiarity with cleanliness, process capability, and yield-related metrics in precision manufacturing
  • Experience working with global, cross-site teams
  • Knowledge of advanced data analytics or modeling tools

Korat, Thailand
Our Korat facility is our largest manufacturing site worldwide, with more than 10,000 employees. Here, our team produces cloud-based storage equipment, from individual storage components to finished drives.
