About our group:

Slider Operations is responsible for developing and integrating HAMR and FEMTO slider processes to improve Slider yield and critical-to-quality (CTQ) metrics. Our team focuses on creating innovative slider technologies that align with future product roadmaps while ensuring manufacturability for smooth production ramp-up and high-volume operations.

About the role - you will:

•    Be responsible for identifying critical projects, designing and implementing to address and achieve the Slider yield and CTQs roadmap requirement
•    Lead technology projects development between Seagate and vendors, ensuring smooth adoption of new processes and equipment
•    Collaborate with global teams and vendors for equipment design reviews, software enhancements and tool optimization.
•    Develop AI-driven projects and Python automation tools to streamline chipping, particle and contamination measurement and reduce manual dependency.
•    Analyze large-scale process data using SQL, Excel, Minitab or other analysis tools to identify CTQ parameters and drive data-based decisions.
•    Manage projects including timelines, budgets, FMEA, ROI studies, and documentation.
•    Be a solution provider
•    Plan, control and take responsibility for design evaluation results
•    Teach and provide guidance to the junior engineer    

About you:

•    Interpersonal, communication, planning, teamwork and presentation skills
•    Able to blend into fast-paced manufacturing environment and work with manufacturing teams to strive to meet organizational goals
•    Good English communication both spoken and written

Your experience includes:

•    Bachelor’s degree or higher degree in Mechanical, Automation, Manufacturing Engineering discipline and/or related experience
•    Highly experienced and deeply proficient in high volume manufacturing and process development
•    Skills in statistical analysis and quality control using SQL, Excel, and Minitab
•    Proven success in advanced process development and technology transfer
•    Hands-on experience with AI models (YOLOv4), machine learning, and Python-based automation.
•    Familiarity with robotic automation systems and CNC-based vision platforms.
•    Experience in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and mechanical design for tooling and fixtures.
•    Knowledge of FMEA, ROI analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
•    Advance engineering knowledge of material singulation, mounting and tooling management
•    Having a leadership & project management experience in complex environment such as Slider processes

Our Korat facility is our largest manufacturing site worldwide, with more than 10,000 employees.
