About the role - you will:

•    Develop, test, and deploy PC‑based software for automated manufacturing equipment
•    Partner with maintenance and process teams to define requirements and deliver software that improves machine performance, supports product changes, and enhances manufacturing efficiency
•    Create and maintain technical documentation, including service manuals and technical specifications
•    Diagnose and resolve software and controls‑hardware issues on the production floor
•    Improve existing automation equipment, as well as develop new automation machine
•    Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in software development
•    Collaborate with mechanical engineers on controls‑hardware design and integration.
•    Design, interpret, and update electrical schematics and pneumatic diagrams
•    Use Lucidchart to visualize and communicate control‑system logic for automated assembly equipment
•    Estimate project cost and schedule and manage projects from concept through completion
•    Develop machine‑learning models to enhance automation processes
•    Integrate advanced sensors for improved data acquisition, predictive maintenance, and quality analytics
•    Research emerging robotics and automation technologies to identify opportunities for equipment improvement

About you:

•    Committed to continuous learning, particularly in automation, control systems, and AI advancements

Your experience includes:

•    Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
•    Strong proficiency in C# and C++ with experience developing and deploying software solutions for factory automation and industrial environments
•    Hands on experience with automation control devices, including sensors, scanners, pneumatic cylinders, and electrical actuators
•    Solid understanding of industrial communication protocols and network architectures such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, DeviceNet, CAN, and EtherCAT
•    Experience with machine‑vision systems and tools including Cognex VisionPro, Halcon, OpenCV, and Emgu CV, along with knowledge of vision‑hardware design
•    Foundational knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence
•    Knowledge of electrical and pneumatic diagram design
•    Familiarity with safety equipment design standards such as SOP39 and SEMI

Our Korat facility is our largest manufacturing site worldwide, with more than 10,000 employees. Here, our team produces cloud-based storage equipment, from individual storage components to finished drives.
