About our group:

The Head Failure Analysis group supports Released Product Team organizations across the globe, providing analysis results of head failure to the concern team to take action for yield improvement. The Head Failure Analysis unit is located in the US, China, and Thailand.  

About the role - you will:

•    Own and execute failure analysis using Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM), Focused Ion Beam (FIB) cross-sectioning, HDD electrical testing, and material/composition analysis to verify failure mechanisms and drive root-cause actions for process and design improvement 
•    Initiate and implement improved failure-analysis methods to increase capability, accuracy, and turnaround time for testing and investigations 
•    Provide technical leadership and coaching to junior engineers and technicians to strengthen problem-solving skills and knowledge sharing 
•    Support customer and factory requirements by providing timely, high-quality analysis results and clear technical recommendations 

About you:

•    Experience in failure analysis and yield improvement
•    Hands-on experience with FESEM and FIB cross-sectioning (sample prep, imaging, interpretation) and experience with materials/composition analysis
•    An Active and an initiative person 
•    Understanding the failure background, provide an analysis and method to get a high-accuracy failure analysis result 
•    Good command of spoken and written English and Thai

Your experience includes:

•    Bachelor, Master, or PhD in Materials Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Physics, and/ or relevant experience
•    Analytical skills are complimentary, such as JMP or Minitab
•    Strong root-cause analysis skills (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa) and driving corrective actions with process/design teams
•    Knowledge in Thin-film coating technology, Electron microscopy, Laser, and its phenomenon
•    Experience in semiconductors or hard disk drive improvement projects and literature review
•    Ability to write clear FA reports and present results to cross-functional teams/customers

Our Korat facility is our largest manufacturing site worldwide, with more than 10,000 employees.
