Engineering Specialist II (Slider Metrology and Maintenance)

About our group:

Our team is responsible for ensuring the reliability and accuracy of slider metrology equipment and maintaining optimal performance of manufacturing tools. We collaborate closely with process engineers, manufacturing teams, and quality assurance to support production goals and continuous improvement.

About the role - you will:

· Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on slider metrology equipment (e.g., XRF, OpicaTE, EAVS, AFM, DLC coating systems)

· Ensure equipment calibration and measurement accuracy according to ISO and internal standards

· Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for equipment failures and process deviations

· Drive corrective actions and collaborate with engineering and factory personnel to resolve technical issues

· Support process improvement initiatives, including FMEA updates, Gage R&R analysis, and capability studies

· Prepare and present technical documentation for audits, customer visits, and internal reviews

· Work collaboratively within a team environment to meet production targets and quality standards

· Be assigned additional tasks and responsibilities that contribute to team, department, and company goals

· Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude

· Experience in metrology equipment maintenance and reliability engineering

· Knowledge of quality and reliability functions in manufacturing

· Experience in customer or cross-functional team interfacing roles

· Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
