About our group:

Our team owns test software development for Quality & Reliability Testing of High-Tech Storage Products from HDD/SSD Devices to Systems & Object Storage found in Data Centers worldwide. We support Product Assurance, Design Engineering, Customer Technical & Factory Teams across the company. We utilize state-of-the-art software engineering technologies and Agile / SAFe processes to develop & automate testing of Seagate’s next-generation storage product designs. Working in this team, you will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and expertise in high tech HDD product development & manufacturing lifecycles while employing the Scaled Agile Framework software development cycle that enables it. Our team is also focused on employee growth & continuous improvement, providing opportunities to everyone in various software & firmware development areas involving programming languages like Python, Java, C/C++, Dashboard programming, database and Linux Kernel.

About the role - you will:

You will be responsible for developing and improving reliability/quality test platforms to support the qualification work during the entire product development cycle for Seagate HDD, SSD, system and solution products. As a Sr. Engineer, you will also be expected to develop and improve software test platforms and test development processes.

  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of software-based test platforms to support reliability and quality assurance for Seagate’s storage products.
  • Act as a liaison between product development teams, engineering functions, and the test software team to ensure timely and effective resolution of technical challenges.
  • Translate product and engineering requirements into actionable software development tasks. Prioritize and plan these tasks within the SAFe Program Increment (PI) framework to align with business objectives.
  • Convert product algorithms into Python scripts, ensuring compliance with ATA/SCSI command protocols.
  • Collaborate with software team members to drive continuous improvement in code quality, development practices, and testing methodologies.
  • Investigate and resolve product issues through systematic debugging and the implementation of engineering solutions.
  • Proactively invest in your own professional growth and stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.

About you:

  • Masters, or bachelor’s degree in electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Self-motivated, organized and detail oriented.
  • Possess a strong sense of ownership and dedication to success.
  • Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize tasks.
  • Follow existing processes yet be motivated and able to drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and innovation of creative solutions to difficult problems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Your experience includes:

  • HDD/SSD testing/knowledge
  • Familiar with at least two programing languages preferably Python and C/C++
  • Advance knowledge of Python with software design is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SAFe/Agile development processes is preferred.
  • Experience with IDEs, source control tools and GIT flow process is preferred.
  • Storage interface protocol knowledge (SAS, SATA, FC, NVMe) is a plus.
  • Know-how on drive manufacturing and testing is plus.
  • Linux operating system experience is a plus.
  • Database and web programming is a plus.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.

Korat, Thailand

Our Korat facility is our largest manufacturing site worldwide, with almost 20,000 employees. Here, our team produces cloud-based storage equipment, from individual storage components to finish drives.
