Our Slider Process team at Seagate Korat is committed to advancing cleaning technologies that support future product requirements and enhance overall product cleanliness and quality. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a motivated Engineer I to support the improvement and operation of cleaning processes. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to help ensure stable manufacturing performance and consistent product quality.

About the role - you will:

  • Support the monitoring and analysis of key process indicators (KPIVs and KPOVs) for cleaning processes across current product lines, helping ensure compliance with cleanliness CTQs.
  • Work within and maintain a strong understanding of cleanroom operating conditions, including adherence to Class 100 particle control requirements and best practices for environmental management.
  • Participate in process evaluations, experiments, and improvement activities to enhance process stability, cleanliness performance, and product quality.
  • Conduct basic root cause analysis and collaborate closely with Engineering team to implement corrective and preventive actions, identify improvement opportunities, and support execution of development tasks to enhance long‑term process robustness.
  • Assist in the introduction and qualification of new cleaning technologies or materials under supervision, supporting technology transfer from development to mass production.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams including development, production, and quality to resolve technical issues and support knowledge sharing.

About you:

  • Ability to manage assigned tasks in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Fundamental technical knowledge in chemistry or multi‑material processing, with a willingness to learn and strengthen problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills for working within cross‑functional and technical teams.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, JAMP) is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, responsibility, and a growth mindset.

Your experience includes:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of chemical properties and engineering principles, especially related to cleaning agents (e.g., flammable, surfactant‑based, or corrosive chemicals).
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required.
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments particularly HDD, slider fabrication, or cleaning processes, is an advantage.
  • Experience with surface chemistry and familiarity with metrology or lab analysis equipment (e.g., AFM, EDX, FTIR, TOF‑SIMS, FE‑SEM) is considered a plus.

Korat Thailand
